Scott has been very sick with the flu this week so not much has been happening. It's an excuse for everyone else to do alot of laying around.
Poe has been using this time to try out some new places to be lazy.

Finally, he found his favorite place.

Team Effort

Alot of people have been telling me they like my blog, and I always tell them thank you. However, I neglect to tell them that I can't take all the credit. It's really a group of minds that contribute. I come up with the stories, sure. But then they go through revisions with the jr. member of the team.
And of course the the boss has final approval. So now you know. It's not just me, and I have given credit where credit is due.

Poe Games

Poe has moved in and taken over. Most of the animals stay out of his way while he does whatever he wants.but Salem is still following him around. He's finding it hard to maintain an aloof disdainful composure when Poe gets to play all the best games.

First Day

It was a big day today. Poe came home. I set him up in the bathroom until he was comfortable and slowly introduced him to the house menagerie. Skid was first. Poe declared that he wasn't the least bit amused by the hooligan and decided to keep his distance.Salem stated that the situation was insufferable and he was blowing this joint. However, he made sure to inspect all of Poe's belongings, and then went and checked on his own stuff to be sure nothing had been changed. When he felt comfortable, Poe wandered out to the front room where he met more dogs.
Oddly enough, despite his declaration of intolerance, Salem continued to "accidentally" end up running into Poe. Then Poe tested out the couch for use as a scratching post, and finding all to his satisfaction, an uncontrollable cat nap took over.

See? See!That, my friends, is green grass. It's a sign that spring is coming.
Another sign? The Duck is in his domain.

Personal Protection

Scott will be leaving to teach a clinic for 10 days at the end of this week. Some people wonder if I get nervous living alone out here on the farm. I don't. Of course I have Skid, and that is good enough protection but what about Kit? If you were thinking of causing some mischief you might re think it when you saw her greeting. Hmm, maybe I should show the real picture.Or the whole picture?Yeah, perhaps I should continue to rely on Skid.

Splish Splash

I am notorious for taking baths. I obsessively take one every night but apparently I haven't taken a bubble bath since Skid has been around because he couldn't believe his eyes the other evening. He thought it was just the normal bath routine until he saw them. The bubbles. First he was afraid, then, as all small brave dogs do, he took a closer look.

Do you realize how many people and little dogs are killed each year by bubbles? I don't have the numbers, but it must be in the tens of thousands! However, we can all rest easy tonight. Skid has been attacking them and has this dangerous phenomenon under control.

City Dog? Nah, Country Dog!

This is Jane. She's a Jack Russell Terrier. She came to our farm to watch her owner's border collie herd. But Jane isn't the watching kind of dog. She started to explore. No place was exempt. And then, slowly, Jane got in touch with her inner puppy. She was no fluffy pillow sleeping agility dog. She was a TERRIER! Born to live on a farm. Born to dig holes. Born to kill mice. Born to stink! Ah, well... maybe that one went too far. I'm afraid the fun was short lived and a bath was waiting for her when she got home.
