Teddy Bears
This picture of Skid was taken a couple of days after we picked him up.
After his first bath.He was only about 8 months old.
Remember his story?
People always ask why in the world we would keep a little dog.
Don't we have enough dogs?
The reason has to do with this boy and this dog. This was Scott and Teddy.
Teddy was Scott's best friend when he was a kid.
Kinda resembles someone doesn't he? Teddy was Scott's constant companion when he was growing up.When Skid came along, I think Scott figured he'd get his Teddy back.
But Skid picked me.Turned out, I needed a Teddy Bear more than Scott did.

Minimal Monday - Dog Portraits
Instead of shooting more farm pictures this week, I thought I'd take a few shots of some of the dogs in for training.
This year we have all sorts of colors:
Starting with our most dramatic, Craig.Craig is a brother to my nursery dog Syn.
Back to normal colors, we have Jill.I have to say I have a personal bias toward Jill ( I love her!) 'cause I was the first person she ever saw. I whelped her a year and a half ago and her mother and grandmother were a couple of my favorite dogs ever. She is also a sister to my favorite baby, June.
The next dog is more color! Reba! She is very sweet and is a full sister to Scott's good dog, Don.
And last but not least is Bond.
Great name! He reminds me so much of my Hemp, but easier to photograph 'cause he doesn't have crazy eyes!

Quiet Fall
Why oh, why haven't I blogged for a while?
There just isn't much to say, but here's a little bit of the goings on:
Fall, although a busy time of year, is a quiet time for us.
Our winter customer dogs are starting to come in for training.
This year, we had more people tell us that instead of putting them in the kennels, the dogs could go in the tie out yards. (we like this best)
So we built and painted a bunch of new houses. The dogs are settling in and they tell me they like the view. The barn cats are still trying to remain inconspicuous
(if you come to visit, be careful I don't try to slip one or four in your car as a "special" present)and the chickens are trying to eat as much of the unseasonable green grass as they can before it all goes away under a layer of snow. And the sheep?
They are building up their strength for the upcoming winter training season, and dreaming.
Dreaming of a world with no dogs.Except for maybe the occasional sleepy guardian dog.
That would be ok.
