Wonders Never Cease
Remember my mother's little trouble maker?Well, Stoneypoint's Raising Kane (Kane) is nine months old now. He and his brother, Skipper, have just graduated from an advanced local obedience class. Like all grads they had a ceremony and proud mommas who took lots of pictures to send to the relatives. (Kane on the right) So Kane, now that you're finished with school are you looking for a job so you can support yourself?

Puppies Day Out
If you haven't been reading my trial blog, you might not know that we have been traveling. Our trial season has begun so we are on the road for two months. Right now we are in Michigan with no trials for a week. We are using the time to dry out from all the rain and train on the dogs. Most of the pups have gone to their new homes but June, of course is with us. We are also hanging on to her brother Crue (as in Mutley Crue). He'll be with us until the end of May when his new owner picks him up at the Kentucky Bluegrass trial. Syn and Dave are along too but today was about June and Crue.
They got their first vaccine today and since the rain had stopped, I thought they could use a day out of their pen to forget about their problems. So I took them out to the sheep field.
The day started with a good wrestling match. (All I can say is that it's a good thing Crue's new owner is a groomer 'cause the first thing he needs after this kinda fun is a bath)Then there was some discussion as to which side of the pen they should be on.A water break was then in order, since they had been working pretty hard. After that, June started looking around to see what else they could do.She decided that perhaps Scott could use some help. And they were glad they joined him because they briefly got to see their very first sheep. And when June and Scott had finished their day's work, they went off to eat their dinner and relax.

The Chosen One
We have finally picked the pup who will stay with us from Megan and Don's litter.
We have Christened her June.It was such a beautiful day out today that while Scott worked on repairs to our trailer, the house dogs and I spent the afternoon in our front yard in the sun. All of Megan's pups got to hang out in their x-pen but since June is our keeper, she got to cruise with the big dogs. We have also bought two new pups from outside kennels and they joined her explorations in the front yard.
Syn is a little closer to June's sizebut Dave is quite a bit bigger - however he's a big gentle softy. When June noticed Jed drinking from the "big dog" bucket, she no longer wanted her little bowl. She figured all the cool dogs did it that way so she had to give it a try.
But it was an exciting day and a puppy can only last so long. So, looking very much like her dad, little June crashed in the late afternoon sun.

Bath Day - or THE TUB OF DEATH
It's not like I'm an ogre. I asked for volunteers. It's not my fault they didn't know what they were getting into. So I went with the large male who was the first one to come running when I called. He was alright with it at first but then the water turned on and he was pretty sure he didn't sign up for THIS! Once he was convinced that there was no escape and I assured him that no puppies had died while I was giving them a bath this year, he settled down to suffer his fate. Imagine his surprise when he actually survived to tell the tale.

A Week of Firsts
Today is the first day outside.Stay tuned tomorrow for the first bath and if we all survive, Wednesday will be the first trip to the vet. That will be an adventure because we have to go 3 hours north of us to the eye vet who will check everyone out. I have some loud music ready to drown out the complaints on the long drive.
