Big Doin's At The Hen House

The chicken house has long been in need of some repairs. The recent rains let us know that there was no putting off fixing the roof any longer.Did you notice the sweatshirt?Sure, Baby. Whatever you say, but only for 2011. Kay?

Anyway, the roof is up and the chicken is happy.
THE chicken?
Yes.
Everyone got old, quit laying, and died.
Except one.
And she's been lonely.
But wait?
What's this?
A new chicken?
Two chickens!
Err, I mean, Three! Three chickens!Ok. Now I'm starting to sound like The Count from Sesame St.
Four! Four chickens!
Actually, there are now five.
One girl is camera shy.

It's been awhile since I've seen this sight,
leading to this welcome sight.Stay tuned, some performing chickens are planning on moving in next week...

The new roof looks good. We put a metal roof on our coop two years ago, smartest thing we ever did. Next spring we're going to be putting a metal roof on our main barn along with gutters. Did you have to help Scott with the roof? I had to help my hubby by holding the metal in place even tho I had just had surgery that fall.

Have a good winter.

Aww, hen #1 looks a little lonely, don't you think? At least she's got four other chickens with her! On a more serious note, I'm glad you finally did those repairs on the roof. The life of those chickens would've been harder if there were leaks, or if the roof partially collapsed due to harsh weather.
